The ministry of praise (music) is a service in which a group of brothers consecrated to God, lead the people in praise and worship with the best music.
The definition is broken down as follows:
a) It is a service
The word ministry comes from the Latin word Ministrare which means service, therefore it is necessary that what motivates the heart of any brother who belongs or wants to belong to this ministry must be the service to God and the brethren.
This also tells us that the member of the ministry should follow Jesus, our Lord, as an example:
- He came not to be served but to serve Mt. 20:28.
- He submitted himself to the will of the Father Mt. 14:36
The best music is born of a humble heart. Ps. 51. 16-19
A heart that recognizes the greatness of God, that apart from Him there is no other, and expresses it in songs of praise and adoration, is offering the Lord the best music that his ears can hear.
Those who are guided by the Spirit and try to live the criteria of the gospel, can offer God the best music with their singing or playing an instrument, but this is necessary to back it up with a congruent testimony of life, since: "of what your mouth speaks, your heart is full".
It is not being mentioned that only perfect people in the service of God can be in the ministry of praise, on the contrary, this is leading us to have a continuous renewal leading a life of prayer without being satisfied with what we have, but allowing ourselves to be guided by the Spirit to offer God a worship service where glory to God is continually manifested.
